Today’s new moon marks the start of the Indian celebration of Navratri, the nine nights of the goddess, which is a wonderful time to deepen your commitment to your spiritual practices, including mantra chanting, meditation and fasting.
🙏🏻
A new lunar cycle, a new Mars cycle and a new Mercury cycle are beginning now as all these planets meet the Sun in Libra in the space of a couple of days.
♎️
It’s a good time to improve on something you’ve already started or revise what you are already working on – dealing with nagging issues that have been avoided or ignored for a while will bring better results than trying to initiate something new just now (wait until the second half of October or later for that and you will find forward momentum is easier).
👍🏻
The New Moon is conjunct a stifled Mars in Libra and opposite retrograde Chiron in Aries (individually and collectively healing our notions of self, and self-sabotage).
🌚
Patience and compromise are preferable to conflict avoidance or passive aggressive behaviour, especially now!
😌
Don’t get too excited about big new moon starts right now – the energy is not ideal with both the Sun and Mars at their weakest, Mercury in retrograde and Pluto stationary direct at 24 degrees of Capricorn (where it continues to overthrow the status quo since the end of 2007) in a very strong challenging aspect to disruptive Eris in Aries.
😬
That 24 degree mark in Capricorn has been a trigger for the current pandemic as well as government and economic instability since March 2020.
😧
This next week should be interesting in that regard – watch out for revelations on these fronts in the near future.
😯
With all of the slowest moving planets retrograde for the past few months plus Mercury in retrograde motion right now, things might feel like they’re stuck or not showing the expected results for the efforts you’ve making.
😐
Saturn is stationing direct (exact on Sunday) after months of being retrograde – a slow process which will keep us feeling bogged down for a while before we feel a noticeable difference in our activities and plans.
🙃
Picture a massive ship turning in the ocean – it takes days to change course and although a new direction is inevitable, it will be another couple of weeks before it feels like we’re making progress.
🚢
This energy begins to shift as of mid-October and picks up through late November and early December, when things will likely change quickly and probably quite unexpectedly due to the added stimulus of the lunar and solar eclipses.
🤪
Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with the intensity, the Full Moon on the 21st will show us what these days have been all about.
😅🌝
