I’m so glad you want to take care of your overall health with the support of the common-sense, sustainable methods used in India’s ancient healing system known as Āyurveda!

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning the knowledge (Veda) of life (Āyu). According to Āyurvedic wisdom, we are healthy when we feel happy, content, physically and mentally light and balanced, and can easily digest and process our food as well as emotions and life experiences.

You will be amazed how quickly your body & mind find a better balance!

Learn the basics of a healthy daily structure with a focus on delicious, nourishing foods for your own personal body type and goals. A solid framework for health costs next to nothing, and can often be sufficient to resolve nagging health issues.

For more serious or chronic health complaints, I will provide you with the extra support needed for your mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. This can involve working with mindfulness to understand the health impact of our thoughts, emotions and stress responses, and exploring the underlying psycho-spiritual-emotional cause of the imbalance.

Once you have scheduled your session you will receive a health questionnaire to fill out and return to me before your consultation. This is an important part of our work together (and saves a lot of time otherwise wasted in the session!) as the form contains questions regarding your current and past personal and health situation so I can better understand your working life, lifestyle, relationships, habits and diet.

Your autonomy and resilience is my goal

I will show you how to find your way forward while supporting your physical, mental, and spiritual health in the best way for you now. Knowing basic Ayurvedic principles empowers you to make appropriate choices for your needs and current situation. Through our initial (and very thorough) Ayurvedic assessment you will better understand your health and learn how to resolve issues that disturb your natural balance.
 

Our work together builds and strengthens the foundations for your physical and mental health, ideally eliminating reliance on long-term medication and allowing the body to find balance and thrive through our natural capacity to heal.

Although some issues can be cleared up in a matter of days through diet and lifestyle adaptations, there is no ‘quick-fix’ or easy solution to health issues that may have persisted for years and even decades. Ayurveda works best as a preventive health measure and your motivation and compliance will determine how well you progress towards your goals.

Many of my clients work with me on diet, lifestyle, and mindset alongside their ongoing medical treatment. Nonetheless, an Ayurvedic Health Coaching Session does not replace a medical consultation and is not a substitute for medical treatment where needed.

Why learn from me?
I have been living a more or less yogic lifestyle for nearly 30 years. I thought I was living healthy, but a chronic lack of sleep was undermining my good habits. Plus, although much of what I ate was organic, it was not the best food for me and often was convenient rather than nourishing.
Rushing through a busy day as a parent of small kids I usually ate too fast, often standing up, and would eat either too late or too much in one meal – and sometimes both! These habits seem quite innocent, especially because they’re so common in our society, but they eventually lead to health imbalances that get worse over time.

Through Ayurveda, mindfulness, and yogic practices I have been able to recover from a near-fatal medical accident, heal myself from burnout, reduce and avoid symptoms of menopause, and watch my health get better with age.

 
You can feel better no matter where you are in your life, and learn to respect and love yourself enough to live in sync with what you need to remain happy and healthy instead of following the crowd towards the latest trend.
