Highly sensitive Pisces tends to wear their proverbial heart on their sleeve. When the focus is on a romantic mental image of how life should be coming from the Virgo polarity, this can lead to excessively emotional reactions to life events, when compassion and acceptance would be more helpful. Victim, Martyr, Saviour, Servant, Pragmatist, Spiritualist – the many roles represented by these two signs are played out unconsciously in our own lives.
This full moon begins the fortnight of the ancestors known as Pitru Paksha (pitru means forefathers or ancestors, and paksha means fortnight). At this time of the year Indian tradition celebrates and honours our ancestors, acknowledging the debt we owe them for the life we have. Whatever we may think of our parents and other ancestors, we are here because they gave us life and our circumstances are largely due to their efforts and choices. Since we are the continuation of our ancestors, they continue to live both in and through us.
This full moon is also found in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra which carries the image of a sacrificial altar. Material things must be sacrificed in such a way as to so that we are not dominated by them or attached to them.
